The CTELC held 5 tours a year for a total of 300 after school tours. This Technology Education Group ended with the retirement of Gregory Kane the 3rd Connecticut Industrial Arts/Technology Education State Consultant.

What is the CTEEA Tours Group?

CTEEA Tours
(Formally known as: CONNECTICUT TECHNOLOGY EDUCATION LEADERSHIP COUNCIL (CTELC))

PURPOSE OF THE ORGANIZATION
CTEEA Tours is a program where Connecticut Technology & Engineering Education Association (CTEEA) members can network between technology & engineering educators throughout Connecticut.

Scheduled meetings provide opportunities for the technology & engineering education educators to:
share ideas (teaching strategies, curriculum activities, etc)
network with each other on the status of the technology education programs
develop new and innovative curriculum directions
broaden the instruction perspective of the technology & engineering education field
further the cause of technology & engineering education
network with local technology & manufacturing business and organizations

MEMBERSHIP IN THE ORGANIZATION
CTEEA Tours will be open to any member of the CTEEA. An eligible participant may become a CTEEA member by paying an annual membership due. Non CTEEA members who are educational professionals dedicated to technology & engineering in Connecticut may also participate in the CTEEA tours for an additional fee, not including the tour and meal costs.

CTEEA TOURS
The date of the CTEEA Tours will be dependent on the location and hosting facility, and the times may vary. The beginning of the CTEEA Tours will begin no sooner than 3:30 pm and conclude no later than 8:00pm. CTEEA Tours will typically consist of:
Registration/Meet & Greet Session;
Tour agenda that may include speakers, workshop, and/or site tour;
Dinner; and
Opportunities to network.

Anyone who is registered and committed to the tour and does not attend, will still be responsible for the tour and dinner fees.

OPERATIONS OF THE ORGANIZATION
Treasurer/Secretary
The Treasurer/Secretary is key to the operation of this organization and provides several important services that include:
- maintaining the communication (i.e. mailings, emails, posting,etc) for the organization;
- collecting payments for meals; and
- paying vendors for services rendered in the organization’s behalf.

CTEEA Tours Chairperson
The chairperson of the organization will help set up and lead the tours. Additionally the chairperson also:
- assists in the establishment of yearly objectives for the organization;
- facilitates the assignment of a secretary/treasurer; and
- facilitates the establishment of a yearly program schedule.

Chairperson and Treasurer/Secretary candidates are currently volunteer positions. The Chairperson and Secretary/Treasurer may become an elected position as the organization becomes more established where candidate can then be elected by a popular vote for two year terms.
