The Connecticut Technology and Engineering Education Association and the Submarine Force Library & Museum are offering a two-day SeaPerch Underwater ROV professional development build, hosted by the River Valley Technical Center in Springfield Vermont.

Each participant will construct their own SeaPerch, a $168 underwater ROV being used by students across the United States as both a curriculum-based STEM project and a competitive event vehicle designed to introduce students to career opportunities in marine engineering, architecture, and manufacturing trades.

The kits will be provided by the Submarine Force Library & Museum, the home of the first nuclear submarine, USS Nautilus in Groton Connecticut. Located outside the main gate of the United States Submarine Base in Groton, the museum and submarine offer free admission and are open to the public.

Conducting the build will be Gregory Kane, Retired State Supervisor for Technology and Engineering Education for the Connecticut Department of Education and current adjunct faculty member at Central Connecticut State University in the Technology Education teacher preparation program. He is a Master SeaPerch Trainer for Robo Nation, the organization behind SeaPerch.

The registration fee for the two days is $50.00 and includes lunch both days as well as all building materials

Any questions, contact Gregory Kane at 860 989-1426 or Gkane@seaperch.org.
